和束町の丘陵地で東家が手掛ける小ロットの国産紅茶。SamidoriとAsahiの品種をブレンドし、なめらかでありながら心地よいキレのある味わいに仕上げました。渋みはほとんどなく、スパイスやドライフルーツのニュアンスと、優しく長く続く甘みが広がります。
Azuma Wakouchaは、京都南部の山間部・和束町で栽培・製造されています。この地域は碾茶栽培と抹茶生産で最もよく知られています。このお茶は、東家が毎年少量生産する和紅茶のひとつです。夏摘みの直前に、ウンカと呼ばれる小さな虫が葉に群がります。この虫が葉に微妙なダメージを与えることで、完成した紅茶に個性と深みが加わります。
このお茶の魅力を最大限に引き出すには、5分間抽出し、ミルクは加えずに、この甘く滑らかで温かみのある一杯をぜひお楽しみください。
I keep going back for another cup as soon as the pot's empty—the smoothness from those Samidori and Asahi leaves is just right. Even letting it steep a little longer than I usually would didn't bring out any harsh bite, just that gently brisk character the description promises.
